Cheap Salvation

We don't need your cheap salvation
We don't need your mind control
No dark poison from the pulpit
Preacher, leave us all alone!
Hey, preacher, leave us all alone!

All in all, it's just a pretty big bore!

The Golden Dawn - Very Brief History

In the mid-1800’s there was a massive interest in the occult. Many organizations and orders developed and flourished, not just the various Rosicrucian orders, but also the Theosophical Society founded by Madam Blavatsky, and Spiritualism was also gaining popularity. From this sea of interest came a group of eminent Freemasons who founded the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn 1887/1888.

The Golden Dawn used some of the rituals and structure of Freemasonry and Rosicrucianism, but also practised magic based on hermetic thought. They were very heavily influenced by the Jewish mystical system, the Qabalah, the Egyptian Book of the Dead and also the Enochian system developed by John Dee and Edward Kelly.

A lot of the rituals are very complex, and also anyone who wanted to be initiated and progress through the grades was expected to learn a lot of theoretical knowledge and have a basic understanding of Hebrew, astrological correspondences, and various other material contained in the “Knowledge Lectures”. Ultimately, the founders were very clever men with an interest in languages, philosophy and history, and this is reflected in the material. There is also a reliance on a lot of external paraphernalia, such as various wands, daggers, swords, robes and banners which would have cost a lot in both money to procure the items and/or time to make them, but were nevertheless quite beautiful and awe inspiring by all accounts.

My Experiences On The Tree Of Life - Part 5

Starting from the "volcanic landscape" that I found myself in at the previous session. Remembering there is no direct route from the lower levels to Binah (I go through Tiphareth which connects the lower levels to the upper)...

I wanted to find my way back to Tiphareth. A voice said to me "if you want to know the way, ask a policeman" and sure enough one appeared and led me back to Tiphareth!

When I got to Tiphareth, I saw through a door what I had previously saw (the angels and crosses). An angel greeted me and said there was no need to go through that again (being crucified) and led me on to the path.

Binah
I found myself in the Garden of Eden, lots of lovely fruit everywhere, a true paradise.

A serpent said to me "taste the fruit" so I did. After eating the fruit, I also turned into a serpent. Then some other serpents said "he has become like us, he must leave". I was then thrown out of the garden and was on the path to Chokmah.

Chokmah
In Chokmah, I saw lightning everywhere. This was the primordial creative force of the universe.

I thought I was alone, but then I saw some figures dressed in white, they spoke with tremendous power:

"You are not clean, you can not be here, you can not pass through".

Before I could say a word, I was forcefully thrown out, back on to the path where I was previously, the path from Chokmah, not the next path to Kether.

Concluding Remarks
I was not allowed to go on and complete my journey this time, all the way to Kether as I was when working through the tree in the world of Assiah. I was obviously not ready yet, and to force my way through, may have opened doors that I am not yet ready to open. All through this journey I did feel a lot of things were being kept secret. I will continue with my path working on the tree at a later date, when I am more experienced.

My Experiences On The Tree Of Life - Part 4

starting from the "space" landscape after leaving Tiphareth...

Geburah
I found myself in a nightclub. There was a live act on stage (it was actually a "drag act" of some kind). Around the club were various dance floors and seating areas. For a while I didn't know what to do, then a voice told me to speak to the four groups of people in each of the four seating areas. This I did, and each gave me some insight into life. The club was breaking up, the entire scene crumbling away into the abyss. I was just going to speak to the last group of people when the entire club disappeared into the abyss, and I was shattered into light particles, and gradually assembled again on the path to the next sphere, the path this time was a woodland landscape.

Chesed
Here, everything was cushioned, the floor, walls, ceiling, everything. I didn't know what to do, so I sat down on a seat. A woman, in an evening dress came up to me, she said I had no time to rest here, if I looked around, everyone had worked hard to get here (the other people showed signs of being mature in years) and I also had to work hard. I asked where the way out was, she said the answer was just in front. In front of me was a revolving door with a big question mark on it. I couldn't get through, with people constantly coming through it. I looked for another door, and saw there were hundreds, maybe thousands of them, I was in a big circular tower. On a precipice, all around me these doors but no way out! Then I saw there was a rope, but it was such a long way up, I would never make it. Then I noticed there were all these little helicopters flying around, eventually I put enough together to take my weight, and flew up and out of this sphere. At the exit, I found myself near a volcano that was erupting, all around me was lava.

My Experiences On The Tree Of Life - Part 3

continuing on from the winter landscape after leaving Yesod...

Hod
There were scythes and flames that blocked the way, on the other side was the exit, and also a precious jewel. People were trying to get to the other side, and being destroyed by the blades and flames in the process. I can't see any way through. A king appears and tells me I have to work this one out for myself, but it seems impossible. I then look around, and see there is a way under the blades and flames, an "under-pass". The king says "there you are, that's the way"! I go under, take the jewel, and go through the exit.

Outside, it is very windy, people are being blown off the path, and plummeting to their death, except me, I seem anchored to the spot.

Netzach
In here, I saw angels and gods, dancing to music, dancing with me, eating, drinking and being merry. There was music and there was laughter. Suddenly, I was laughed at, and thrown out. I was pushed through a door into darkness. Here were gravestones and skeletons that were shrieking, bats and creatures of the night. A voice said to me "this is the shadow world, the realm of the dark gods, you must experience this also". There was the stench of decay, and the sounds of the night. I couldn't find my way out, but was then led out, by a figure in a glittering robe, that led me out by the hand. Outside there were explosions and flames, and things being destroyed by fire.

Tiphareth
Here I saw angels blowing trumpets. People on crosses were being lifted off them, and carried up and away by other angels. I was then shown a cross with my name on it, and steps up to it. I climbed up the steps, waiting to also be taken up. But first , a massive golden snake, fastened me to the cross, then I was nailed to it by a massive golden angel. I stayed there for a while, until I too was taken up into the sky by one of the angels above.

I kept going up and up, then I reached the top and out of the sphere. I was again on a path, but this time it was like I was in space, with lots of space craft that kept flying past me.

My Experiences On The Tree Of Life - Part 2

This time, I set out to experience the Tree of Life in the world of Yetzirah, the order of angels. Here are my experiences so far, in Malkuth (10) and Yesod (9).

Malkuth
Upon entering the sphere, creatures started attacking me, I couldn't see what they were, I just caught a glimpse of red arms. I told them to stop, but they wouldn't. I was then handed a burning coal and told to eat it., which I did. I was then "taken up" into a tower, where a king greeted me. I asked him, "why you again, aren't you the same king from before"? He pointed up, higher, to a brightly lit room or balcony area. I went up there, and saw an angel who gave me a book with diagrams in it. He pointed to angels all around, sitting at desks writing. He said that they write down all the deads that are done in the world, as a record.

I found my way out of Malkuth by imaginging a door (the angel told me to "create" a way out), and found a lovely summer landscape when I got out.

Yesod
After entering Yesod, there was just blackness, then a light was switched on, and a man with an american accent in a smart blue suit greeted me and said "angels don't always appear as you think they should you know"!

I was in a massive conrol centre, screens and consoles and computers everywhere. The man explained how everything that happens in the world is observed here. I saw wars and disasters happening on the screens.

Then the man took me into his office and showed me "secret" files on a computer.

Next, he gave me a laptop, and said I would need it. When I asked the way out, he said the plans for the building were on the laptop. I used these plans to find my way out (long corridors, some dark, some doors of labs/test rooms, people being experimented on). When I found my way out, it was a cold winter landscape.

Closing Remarks
I had to stop there, to continue in another session, this work is very tiring and draining, slightly overwhelming at times.
